Man Charged For Role In Riot At Hollywood And Highland
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A Los Angeles man faces charges in connection with last month's riot on Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue, prosecutors said Thursday.
Noel Stephen Buller, 21, was charged Wednesday with one misdemeanor count of remaining at the scene of a riot, City Attorney's Office spokesman Frank T. Mateljan said.
Buller faces up to six months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine if convicted.
The defendant is currently on probation from a prior conviction for defrauding an innkeeper in April 2011 and is facing charges for a separate trespassing incident in May 2011.
An estimated 300 people took part in a disturbance on Hollywood Boulevard on July 27 after they were turned away from a concert/block party at the premier of a music documentary on the controversial "Electric Daisy Carnival" rave party that led to the death of a teen girl at the L.A. Coliseum.
KNX 1070's Claudie Peschiutta reports the crowd damaged police vehicles, caused massive gridlock, and refused to disperse from the area when instructed by police.

Buller was observed shouting at police officers and agitating others in the crowd. He was arrested after he refused to comply with commands to disperse.
Arraignment is set for Aug. 18.
