Man arrested for trying to attack man and his daughter with a knife in Culver City
Police arrested a man who allegedly swung a knife at a man and his daughter while they were exercising in Culver City on Friday.
It happened a little before 9:30 a.m. on the La Ballona Creek bicycle path, near the intersection of Ocean Drive and Westwood Boulevard, according to the Culver City Police Department.
"The victim nor his daughter were injured during this incident, and they fled from the attacker," said a statement from police.
Officers later located the suspect, who has not been identified, in the parking lot of Culver City Middle School. There were no students present as they are on winter break.
The man was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon at the Culver City Jail.
Investigators are working to determine a motive and the moments leading up to the alleged attack.
Police recovered the knife, which they say the suspect had discarded after the incident.
