Man Arrested For Allegedly Touching Girls At South LA Pool

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Sheriff's deputies have arrested a man suspected of committing lewd acts against children at a South Los Angeles public pool.

The Sheriff's Department says in a news release that 32-year-old Darnell Island of Compton was inappropriately touching 9- to 13-year-old girls on Wednesday at the Ted Watkins Memorial Pool in the unincorporated Florence-Firestone area.

Deputies located four victims who say Island touched areas of their bodies that made them uncomfortable. Investigators believe there may be more victims.

Island was booked for investigation of lewd conduct. Bail is set at $100,000.
