Man Accused Of Fatally Shooting Son Because He Was Gay Now Additionally Charged With Killing Wife
NORTH HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Authorities said the 69-year-old man North Hills man accused earlier this month of fatally shooting his son because he was gay has been additionally charged with the fatal stabbing of his wife.
Shehada Khalil Issa had reportedly told officials he came home and discovered his son killed his wife and that he shot his son in self-defense.
Deputy DA Emily Cole said Issa faces two counts of willful, deliberate and premeditated murder with a special circumstance allegation of multiple murders.
Arraignment is scheduled at 8:30 a.m. on May 17 in Department S of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, San Fernando Branch.
The defendant is accused of killing his wife, Rabihah Shibi Issa, 68, with a knife on or between March 27 and 29, according to the charges.
The felony complaint also includes a special allegation that the defendant personally and intentionally discharged a shotgun, which caused great bodily injury and death to his son, Amir Issa, 38. The complaint also includes a hate crime allegation.

On March 29, police responding to the family's home allegedly discovered the body of Amir Issa outside of the house. Rabihah Issa's body was found inside a bathroom, the prosecutor said.
The defendant is being held without bail.
Issa faces the death penalty or life in prison without the possibility of parole. A decision on whether to seek the death penalty will be made at a later date, the DA said.
