Man, 75, Sentenced To 26 Years To Life For Killing Wife, 69
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A 75-year-old man was sentenced Wednesday to 26 years to life in prison for the beating and stabbing murder of his 69-year-old wife in the Westlake District.
Ronald Leroy Berg was convicted August 4 for the murder of Violata Alonte Monlion Berg.
The victim was beaten and stabbed on September 28, 2008 in the apartment the couple shared in the 300 block of South Commonwealth Ave.
The couple had been married 19 years when the victim announced she was leaving him.
According to prosecutors, Berg used knives and an iron to kill his wife.
