Man, 44, In Grave Condition After Hit-And-Run Crash In Van Nuys
VAN NUYS (CBS) — A 44-year-old driver injured in a hit-and-run collision in Van Nuys was in grave condition Wednesday, police said.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Densmore Avenue around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, said Officer C. Gobble of the Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Traffic Division.
Police were seeking the white man in his late-50s who drove the dark Ford Ranger pickup truck from the early 2000s, Gobble said.
A witness said the pickup slammed broadside into the driver's side door of a white Toyota Tercel, injuring its male driver, said Officer N. Nunez, also of the LAPD's Valley Traffic Division. The pickup rolled over, landed on its wheels and was observed leaving the scene, Nunez said.
Attempts were being made to locate relatives of the injured driver who live out of the country.
Anyone with information on the collision was asked to call the Valley Traffic Division at (818) 644-8000.
