Police Looking For Man They Say Sexually Assaulted Acquaintance

VNTURA (CBSLA.com) — Police are on the hunt for a 22-year-old man they say sexually assaulted and kidnapped an acquaintance.

Ventura Police Officers were dispatched to Ventura County Medical Center about 11 a.m. Sunday to interview the victim of an alleged assault.

The unidentified victim told authorities that David Romero, an acquaintance, went to her residence and forced his way inside about 5:30 a.m. Saturday. She told them that once inside, he battered her, forced her into her own vehicle, drove her to another location and sexually assaulted her.

Romero drove the victim to the Ventura County Medical Center and fled.

The victim was treated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities said Romero, a Ventura resident,  has a felony warrant for violation of probation on criminal threats and stalking charges.
