The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said Michael Tamayo of Los Angeles sexually assaulted, sodomized and robbed the four women in 2013.
He was convicted in September of 14 separate counts including: three counts of assault with intent to commit a felony, three counts of robbery, two counts of assault and one count each of kidnapping, kidnapping to commit another crime, rape by force/fear, sodomy by use of force, forcible oral copulation and grand theft from person.
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Kelvin D. Filer also ordered the defendant to register as a sex offender for life.
In each of the incidents, Tamayo also stole the victims' cellphones.
During their investigation, authorities were able to ping the cellphones to locate and arrest the defendant, the prosecutor said. Additionally, DNA evidence linked Tamayo to the crimes.
