Man, 19, Stabbed To Death At Birthday Party In Sylmar
SYLMAR (CBS) — Authorities say a 19-year-old man was stabbed to death at a birthday party in Sylmar early Sunday morning.
Police announced that David Silva, a 20-year-old party guest, was being held for the slaying.
Witnesses said a fight broke out in the backyard of a residence in the 12000 block of Sayre Street, as the party was winding down, about 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
The victim was reportedly a friend of an invited guest, according to police.
The stabbing victim was taken to Holy Cross Hospital where he was declared dead.
Police said neither Silva nor the victim had any gang ties or significant criminal history.
The victim's name was withheld until his family could be reached.
