Man, 17-Year-Old Boy Fatally Shot In Coachella

COACHELLA (CBS) — A man and a 17-year-old boy were fatally shot early Saturday in Coachella, with both victims pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff's department said.

The shooting was reported at 12:05 a.m. in the 51700 block of Calle Torres Orduno, Riverside County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Brian Reno.

When deputies responded to a report of gunshots fired, they found a man they estimated to be about 30 years old and the boy suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency personnel could not save them, Reno said.

The identity of both the victims was withheld pending notification of family, he said.

Deputies asked anyone with information on the killings to call the sheriff's homicide department at (951) 955-2777 or the Coachella Police Department at (760) 863-8990. Anonymous tips can be left at www.riversidesheriff.org.
