Male Nurse Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Female Patient
DOWNEY (CBSLA.com) — A male nurse was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a patient after she underwent surgery at a Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Downey, police reported.
Detectives suspect Dean Trinh Ngo, 35, sexually assaulted the woman on May 8 as she was recovering from a surgical procedure, according to the Downey Police Department.
Police say the woman reported the alleged crime on July 26 and detectives worked with hospital staff to identify Ngo as the suspect. The registered nurse was immediately suspended and placed on administrative leave by Kaiser Permanente.
Ngo was arrested on August 23 and booked on four felony counts of sexual battery, police said.
During the investigation, detectives came across information that indicated Ngo may have assaulted another patient on June 2, as she was recovering from a surgery at the same hospital. Police are still investigating that allegation.
Anyone with more information about Ngo was asked to call Detective Jaime Pelayo at (562) 904-2335 or Sgt. Dwayne Cooper at (562) 904-2321.
