Carjacking Suspect Arrested After 10-Hour Standoff In Lynwood
LYNWOOD (CBSLA) — A carjacking suspect has been arrested in a Lynwood neighborhood after a 10-hour standoff with Los Angeles Sheriff's deputies Tuesday.
The search for an armed carjacker in the 3100 block of Carlin Avenue started at about noon. The suspect was believed to be hiding in an apartment in the area.
Deputies in tactical gear and SWAT vehicles responded and the immediate area was evacuated.
Despite several reports of the suspect having possible links to the ambush that left two sheriff's deputies wounded, the department confirmed there is no connection between the suspects.
"We have no nexus known between that and the ambush," L.A. Sheriff Alex Villanueva said.
