Long Beach Police Officer Appears In Court On 39 Counts Of Sex-Related Crimes Against Children
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A Long Beach Police officer made his first court appearance Friday on 39 sex-related charges involving 13 underage victims.
Officer Noe Yanez, 40, was ordered to remain jailed on $951,000 bail pending his arraignment, which was rescheduled for next Wednesday.
The judge also issued a protective order barring Yanez from having any written, personal or telephone contact with any of the alleged 13 victims.
Yanez was first arrested April 19 on suspicion of possessing child pornography. He was arrested again Wednesday after the prosecutors filed the 39-count complaint, which alleges crimes that happened between January 2008 and April 13 of this year.
Yanez was suspended without pay last month.
