Long Beach Police Ask Public To Help Them Find Missing Woman

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Police in Long Beach are asking the public to be on the lookout for a 72-year-old woman who has Alzheimer's.

The missing woman, 72-year-old Noorieh Manavi-Nameghi, was last seen at her home -- near Pacific Coast Highway and Ultimo Avenue -- Sunday morning around 5:30 a.m.

Police said the woman was discovered missing about five hours later by family members.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. today, relatives reported her missing to police when she didn't return home.

The missing woman's family said she also has dementia and missed the last two cycles of her medication.

Manavi-Nameghi has only been in the US for a few years and doesn't speak English, says her family.

When she wandered away from home on a previous occasion, they said she was clipped by a vehicle when she walked along the 405 Freeway.

Manavi-Nameghi is about 5 feet 5 inches tall and about 115 pounds. She has gray hair and brown eyes.

She wears a bracelet with her name on it. When last seen, Manavi-Nameghi was seen wearing a black jacket, blue pants and brown Sketcher-type shoes.

Anyone who has seen the missing woman is asked to call the Long Beach Police Department at (562) 435-6711 or 911.
