Long Beach man, woman arrested for burglary at Temecula business
A man and woman from Long Beach were arrested last week for allegedly burglarizing a business in Temecula, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies were called to the 28000 block of Jefferson Avenue on Tuesday after receiving reports of a commercial burglary that had happened in the area, a release from the department said.
"The suspects broke into the business, loaded approximately $50,000 worth of tools and property into a vehicle, and then stole the vehicle," RSO's press release said.
Investigators were able to obtain information that the victim's credit card was used to book a room at a motel in Santa Ana, and on Saturday members of the Robbery and Burglary Suppression Team obtained a search warrant for the motel.
"Team members located the stolen vehicle in the motel parking lot," the release said. "They observed a male and female suspect, later identified as 36-year-old Marselina Ortiz and 43-year-old Jason Warner, both residents of Long Beach, exiting a motel room and were detained by deputies."
They recovered the "majority" of the victim's stolen property from inside of the motel room.
Ortiz was booked for commercial burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property, identity theft, fraudulent use of credit card information and possession of a controlled substance, deputies said. Warner was booked for commercial burglary.
Both are being held in lieu of $10,000 bail.
