Judge Revokes Lindsay Lohan's Probation, New Hearing Set For January
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Los Angeles Superior Court commissioner Wednesday revoked Lindsay Lohan's probation, which stems from a 2011 necklace theft from a Venice jewelry store.
The revocation comes after Lohan's attorney appeared in a Southland court room Wednesday morning for new misdemeanor charges filed against her client involving a June traffic collision with a garbage truck in Santa Monica.
The 26-year-old, who is represented by Shawn Holley, did not attend the 8:30 a.m. hearing on charges that she lied to police, drove recklessly and resisted an officer while on her way to a movie set.
Lohan told officers she was not behind the wheel of her Porsche and that her assistant was driving when the accident occurred on Pacific Coast Highway.
Lohan was ordered to appear in court on Jan. 15, 2013, for arraignment on charges related to the June accident. A date will also be set for a probation violation hearing.
Lohan could be sentenced to 245 days in jail if a judge determines her conduct involving the accident was a probation violation.
Holley declined to make a comment on the case following her client's court date Wednesday.
Lohan's latest brush with the law came less than two weeks ago when she faced new charges of assaulting a woman after getting into an argument at a New York City nightclub. Lohan is scheduled to appear in a Manhattan court on Jan. 11, 2013.
The "Liz and Dick" star was released from supervised probation in March after she completed court-ordered community service and counseling.
