LeBron James To Attend NBA Labor Meeting In LA
NEW YORK (AP) -- LeBron James' All-Star itinerary could include both basketball and business.
James says Thursday he will probably attend next month's collective bargaining meeting in Los Angeles, saying it will be a "huge focus" of the weekend.
Representatives from the owners and the players' association have scheduled a meeting as they try to make progress on a new deal to replace the one that expires on June 30.
Though James doesn't think a deal can be reached in February, he says that "hopefully we can come together and have some things that we can agree on."
James was one of the superstars who showed up at last year's meeting during All-Star weekend, when the players rejected the owners' initial proposal for a new deal.
There has been little progress since, triggering fears of a lockout.
