Leaders Join Community Members At First AME Church To Demand Justice For Trayvon Martin
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — African American leaders and elected officials joined community members during Sunday church services in South Los Angeles to protest the killing of an unarmed Florida teenager.
First A.M.E Pastor John J. Hunter and his wife wore hoodies to symbolize their outrage for the shooting of the 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
They're angry the man who shot Trayvon is still free.
Speaking at the Church, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), says the case shows racial injustice must end in America.
In addition to calls for justice, the congregation signed a special book of prayers that will be sent to Trayvon's parents.
