LAUSD Holding Vaccination Clinics Ahead Of New School Year
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The first day of school in the Los Angeles school district is two weeks away, and the district is conducting vaccination clinics from Reseda to Wilmington this week.
All incoming seventh graders in California must now be vaccinated with booster shots against whooping cough, also called pertussis, before they may enter a seventh grade class.
KNX 1070's Vytas Safronikas reports most toddlers are given such shots, but their effectiveness against the highly contagious disease can wane with time.
