LAUSD Cuts Ribbon On Linda Esperanza Marquez High School In Huntington Park
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Los Angeles Unified School District officials cut the ribbon Friday on the Linda Esperanza Marquez High School in Huntington Park.
The new school is part of LAUSD's $19.5 billion New School Construction and Modernization Program, which allows students to attend a safe and healthy neighborhood school.
"Today, we cut the ribbon on a new school that brings improved educational opportunities and learning environments," LAUSD Board Member Bennett Kayser said in a statement. "This incredible, new high school helps us realize the end of campus overcrowding and multi-track calendars in Huntington Park schools, and that is truly a cause to celebrate."
Linda Esperanza Marquez High School is a Public School Choice site housing three small schools — LIBRA Academy, The Huntington Park Institute of Applied Medicine and the School of Social Justice.
