LASD investigating shooting death in Compton
A man was fatally shot in Compton Sunday afternoon.
Authorities were dispatched to the scene on Temple Avenue at around 1:40 p.m. where they pronounced the man dead at the scene.
"When they arrived, they discovered the victim laying on the street suffering from several gunshot wounds to his upper body,'' Sheriff's Deputy Lizette Falcon said.
There was no additional information immediately available as deputies continued to investigate the incident.
Detectives investigating the incident learned that a dark-colored, four-door sedan was seen leaving the area after the shooting occurred.
