LAPD releases video of hit-and-run crash that left 22-year-old woman with severe injuries in October
Los Angeles Police Department detectives are seeking help in finding a hit-and-run driver and a witness that left a woman in her 20s with serious injuries in October last year.
It happened at around 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 16, 2024, at the intersection of Western Avenue and Clinton Street, a release from LAPD investigators said.
Newly released video shows the moments that the victim and another person, who appears to be a man with long hair, start to walk across Western shortly before a gray sedan appears from the left side of the frame. That car, traveling northbound, hits the woman and continues to drive while the other while the man turns around and begins to walk back to the sidewalk.
Police are hopeful that the other person, who failed to remain at the scene and identify himself as a witness to the incident, can be identified.
The woman, who has not yet been identified, was rushed to a nearby hospital by paramedics for injuries that police said were severe.
The city of Los Angeles is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for anyone who provides information that leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of the driver.
Anyone who knows more is asked to contact LAPD investigators at (213) 473-0233 or (213) 473-0238.
