LAPD Looking For Custom-Made Jewelry Belonging To Slain Father Of Calif. Assemblyman
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles Police Department is seeking the public's help in finding custom-made jewelry that may have been taken from the father of California Assemblyman Mike Gatto on the night he was murdered.
Joseph Gatto, 78, was found shot in the abdomen in his Silver Lake home on Nov. 13.
Police said he had many ornate rings, bracelets, pendants and necklaces that were often engraved with his initials and name "J A Gatto," along with a circular design.
Detectives are searching for the jewelry pieces that may have been purchased or sold by pawn shops.
Anyone with information about the jewelry or the crime was asked to contact the LAPD's Robbery-Homicide Division at (213)486-6890.
