LAPD Bomb Squad Gives 'All Clear' After Finding No Explosives In Northridge Fashion Center Bomb Threat
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — The Los Angeles Police Department's Bomb Squad gave the "all clear" after an hours-long bomb threat investigation Wednesday at a Northridge mall.
A man made a bomb threat while in the upper level of the Northridge Fashion Center, 9301 Tampa Ave., just before 1 p.m. According to the LAPD, mall security followed him and he was arrested by officers nearby.
The man had been carrying a bag, which was left in the parking lot. Police say the bomb squad was called to check the bag.
A portion of the parking lot that had been roped off is now open, and the mall was not evacuated even amid the investigation.
