LAPD In Pursuit Of Stolen Car Suspect In Sylmar
SYLMAR (CBSLA.com) — Police are in chase of a suspect in Sylmar.
Officials said the suspect is wanted for driving a stolen vehicle.
The suspect fled the vehicle -- a silver Mitsubishi -- and climbed a fence to evade police.
The man climbed a series of fences but police tracked him from overhead.
Sky9's Stu Mundel saw the suspect get momentarily caught on the top of a chain link fence.
"Oh, that's gotta hurt," Mundel reported, "That's really gotta hurt."
The suspect eventually made it back to his home. Police -- with guns drawn -- ordered him out of the residence and took him into custody.
Police also had the man's passenger in handcuffs. The passenger got out of the vehicle and gave himself up immediately.
Mundel also reported that police were doing a thorough search of the home to make sure the man they took into custody was the actual stolen car suspect.
"It sure looks him," Mundel said, "unless he has a twin."
