2 Hospitalized In Possible Car-To-Car Shooting After 'Argument At Fast Food Restaurant'
NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA) — Authorities are investigating a shooting in North Hollywood that injured at least two people Friday night after an alleged argument at a fast food restaurant.
A LAPD spokesperson said officers received a report of a woman screaming in the 5100 block of Tujunga Blvd. shortly before 8 p.m., after a vehicle with a man and woman inside crashed into the YMCA sign at Magnolia and Tujunga.
Police say the male driver ran into the facility crying for help, saying he'd been shot. Witnesses say he was bleeding.
Police say the couple had been shot inside their car while driving on Tujunga and it appears they were followed after getting into an argument at a nearby fast food restaurant. According to investigators, the suspect shot at the victims several times.
The YMCA was placed on lockdown as authorities investigated.
Witnesses remembered the frantic scene.
"He said, 'Please help me. Somebody call the police. I don't want to die,'" a man, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said.
"She was screaming ... to the top of her lungs. And she was saying, 'Am I paralyzed?'" a woman added.
Police had not released a suspect description at the time of this report but say they are searching for men who were possibly driving a red BMW.
The victims were hospitalized and were reported in good condition at the time of this report.
