Lamar Odom Gets 3 Years Probation After Pleading No-Contest To DUI
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Former Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers forward Lamar Odom has pleaded no contest to one count of driving under the influence.
The 14-year NBA veteran has been sentenced to three years probation with three months in an alcohol treatment program. He will also pay $1,814 in fines and penalties.
The 34-year-old was arrested on Aug. 30 after he allegedly drove his white Mercedes-Benz SUV at about 50 miles per hour on the 101 Freeway in a "serpentine manner" and shoed "objective signs of intoxication and was unable to perform field sobriety tests as explained and demonstrated," according to a CHP reports.
Odom caught media attention in August when he seemed to vanish shortly after reportedly being kicked out of the house by wife Khloe Kardashian. Social media sites were filled with talk of Odom's apparent disappearance.
It was later confirmed that Odom, who had been battling drug addiction issues, was set up in a Los Angeles hotel, with friends around him helping him battle his addiction issues.
