Lakers Unable To Recover After Dreadful 1st Half Against Pacers
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Rodney Stuckey scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds Monday night to lead Indiana over the Los Angeles Lakers, 110-91.
Los Angeles shot 33 percent from the floor and trailed by 39 points during the game.
The Lakers made 3 of 20 shots, shooting 15 percent in the first quarter, when Indiana pulled away. The Pacers led 34-15 at the end of the quarter. Los Angeles scored eight of its 15 points in the first quarter from the foul line. Indiana stretched its lead over Los Angeles to 33 at halftime, 60-27. The Lakers shot 16 percent from the floor for the entire first half.
CJ Miles scored 20, Roy Hibbert added 10 points, David West and C.J. Watson each scored 12, and Donald Sloan scored 17 points for Indiana. Kobe Bryant led all Lakers in scoring with 21 points, shooting 8 of 26 from the floor.
Nick Young scored 18 points and Carlos Boozer recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. The Pacers bench outscored the Lakers bench 52-46.
Indiana snapped an eight-game losing streak Monday night. The Pacers were 2-9 against Western Conference teams before defeating Los Angeles, snapping the Lakers' three-game winning streak.
Stuckey added seven assists to his double-double. The Pacers out-rebounded the Lakers 53-38. West and Lavoy Allen each grabbed nine rebounds and Hibbert and Solomon Hill each had seven rebounds.
Stuckey had not recorded a double-double in almost two years before Saturday night's double-double against Portland. Stuckey had only recorded a points-rebounds double-double just three times during his seven-year career. In a span of 48 hours he got two. Stuckey is averaging 12.8 points per game, 3.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.
Indiana continues to fight through injuries. Paul George is still sidelined with his fractured tibia with no time table for his return. Ian Mahinmi is out with a torn plantar fascia and George Hill still has a knee injury. The Pacers are just 2-8 since the return of David West, who was out with a sprained ankle.
