Lakers Fall In Preseason Opener Before Sold-Out London Arena
LONDON (AP) -- Michael Beasley scored 21 points in his Timberwolves debut and Minnesota beat the Los Angeles Lakers 111-92 Monday in their preseason opener in London.
Kobe Bryant put in a brief appearance for defending champion Los Angeles as he continues recovery from offseason knee surgery.
Bryant started but went scoreless in little more than 6 minutes, missing all three shots.
It wasn't enough to satisfy the crowd at the sold-out O2 Arena, which chanted "Kobe, Kobe, Kobe" during the second half.

Beasley and fellow newcomers Martell Webster and Anthony Tolliver helped the Timberwolves on a 32-13 third-quarter run to break open the game.
Webster led all scorers with 24 points off the bench and Tolliver added 10.
