LA Unified's Teachers Union Accuses Superintendent Of Retaliating Against Instructors Who Speak Out
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A dozen Los Angeles Unified School District teachers claim they lost their jobs or were forced to change schools after speaking out about problems on campus.
KNX 1070's Claudia Peschiutta reported that the L.A. Unified's teachers union filed complaints with the state Public Employment Relations Board, accusing Superintendent John Deasy of retaliating against 11 teachers at Crenshaw High School and another from City of Angels School.

"When LAUSD maintains a culture in which teachers are afraid to speak up, where people feel cowed, UTLA has to step up to the plate. UTLA has to use whatever resources we have, whatever legal authority we have, to reverse that," said Warren Fletcher, the president of United Teachers Los Angeles.
Deasy and a district spokesperson declined to comment.
A UTLA spokeswoman said some of the teachers named in the complaints are still looking for work and all of them want their old jobs back.
