LA Kings, Galaxy Visit White House, Participate In 'Let's Move!' Q&A
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — President Barack Obama congratulated the Los Angeles Galaxy and the LA Kings Tuesday when the championship teams visited the White House to participate in a "Let's Move!" Q&A with young adults.
After President Obama addressed both teams, the champions were scheduled to take part in a clinic on a makeshift soccer field with young athletes associated with the U.S. Soccer Foundation's Soccer for Success, America SCORES and the National Hockey League's Hockey is for Everyone program.
The Q&A began at 11:40 a.m.
Both teams used Twitter to document the event.
The "Let's Move!" campaign is First Lady Michelle Obama's project aimed at encouraging children to exercise more.
While The Galaxy celebrated its 4th consecutive MLS Cup title last year, The Kings won the franchise's first Stanley Cup.
