LA Kings Fans Blame 'Taylor Swift Curse' For Rocky Start

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Staples Center banner commemorating pop singer Taylor Swift has become a recent focus of Los Angeles Kings fans, who blame the banner for the team's rocky start to the 2015-16 season.

The Kings, opening up their season with a stand on home ice, got off to an 0-3 start until their first win on Friday. Kings fans, looking to blame something, turned to one of the first things they saw.

"It's fun to grab onto something every now and then," one Kings fan said.

The banner was presented to Swift by Lakers star Kobe Bryant to commemorate the singer's earning of the most sold-out performances.

One superstitious Kings fan event went as far as to launch an online campaign to have the banner taken down.

"I think it's silly, but it would be really funny if they pulled it down and they did start playing better," said a Kings fan in attendance during Sunday night's game.

It is not the first time Swift has garnered blame from an athletic fan base.

Another tweet came from a Dallas Cowboys fan:

Despite the Kings winning their last two games, some fans insist that the curse is real.
