LA Dodgers To Host Navy Night Saturday
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The Los Angeles Dodgers are hosting Navy Night at the stadium Saturday as part of LA's first-ever Navy Week.
Adm. Jonathan Greenert, the vice chief of naval operations, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
He is expected to descend into the stadium, where at least 1,000 sailors will be seated in the stands, with a U.S Navy parachute demonstration team, known as the Leap Frogs.
Naval personnel are also expected to provide a variety of musical entertainment during pregame festivities.
On tap to be honored as the veteran of the game, Navy Hospital Corpsman Third Class Phillip Zarate.
This will be the third consecutive game in which the Dodgers are honoring a branch of the armed services. The team held Coast Guard Night Wednesday and Army Night Friday.
