LA Dodgers' Fans Purchase Single-Game Tickets
ELYSIAN PARK (CBSLA.com) — Thousands of fans packed Dodger Stadium Saturday to purchase single-game tickets for the upcoming baseball season.
CBS2's Joy Benedict spoke with some early birds who lined up to get wristbands for an 8:30 a.m. drawing that allowed those whose numbers were called -- along with 100 others -- to purchase tickets one group at a time.
"We got out here at 3 in the morning … so that we could get our wristbands first," said Elisabeth Martinez. "A lot of us thought it was first-come, first-serve but then we learned it wasn't."
The sale marked the first in the last several seasons in which fans could purchase opening day single-game tickets.
In previous seasons, those tickets were only available as part of multiple game packages.
The Dodgers will open the 2013 season at home on April 1 against the San Francisco Giants.
