La Cañada Wants Parent Donations To Offset Budget Gap


LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Even some of California's more upscale neighborhoods are facing mounting school budget crises — just ask parents in La Cañada Flintridge, who are being asked to open their wallets.

Requests for those suggested donations could be made for the next five years, according to Craig Mazin with the La Cañada educational foundation.

KNX 1070's Ed Mertz reports most parents in the area seem more than willing to donate.

Residents already pay a parcel tax for the school district and the level of education attracts families and that keeps property values intact.
