'Kimmel For Vice President' Pop-Up Shop Spotted At LA Costco
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — After "launching" a bid for the vice-presidency on his show Thursday night, comedian Jimmy Kimmel has begun selling "official" campaign wares at a Marina Del Rey Costco location.
The pop-up shop -- captured in a photo by a Reddit user -- offered items for sale including T-shirts, hats and yard signs.
Kimmel's announced his "candidacy" via a "Breaking News" flash during "Jimmy Kimmel Live," featuring guest appearances by CNN anchors.
In the segment, Kimmel said he would run for vice president despite not having been chosen by any of the remaining presidential candidates as a running mate.
"I will either run solo or possibly with both candidates to maximize my chances of being vice president," he told CNN's Jake Tapper.
Among his policy proposals, Kimmel said he would build a wall on the Canadian border.
Asked by Wolf Blitzer whether he was "making a mockery of the election," Kimmel responded, "I think it's too late for anybody to do that, Wolf."
In a Facebook post, Kimmel said he would be launching two pop-up shops at L.A. Costcos this weekend.
