Judge Allows Disney To Use One Cab Company For Anaheim Resorts

ANAHEIM (AP) — A judge says Disney Resorts can exclusively use one taxi company and bar all other cabs from picking up passengers at Disneyland, California Adventure, Downtown Disney and its three hotels.

Resort officials say they want to work with Yellow Cab of Greater Orange County to guarantee good service and because they have a fleet of clean-burning vehicles. There are three licensed cab companies in Anaheim.

A judge in November issued a temporary restraining order and put off a decision when attorneys for the other companies claimed Disney and other hotels were creating a monopoly. The judge heard arguments and issued his final ruling on Thursday.

Attorneys for the other cab companies told The Orange County Register they plan to refile the case but didn't know when.
