Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (July 26)

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — The gray skies continue Thursday morning with temperatures that will be running below average from the thick marine layer and on-shore flow.

There won't be much change Friday. There are some gusty winds in our mountains from this on-shore flow. In fact a red flag warning was issued for the mountains of Kern County above 5000'. This includes the area past the Grapevine.

As we make our way into the weekend, expect some slight warming. Then next week the high pressure moves back into the 4 corner states and we will have more significant warming. I am also expecting the return of some monsoonal moisture. It's still in question if it will translate into thunderstorms, but we will have to watch it closely...especially because some early forecast model runs have a wave of energy moving directly over the LA Basin.

Beaches - upper 60s
Basin -mid 70s
Valleys - upper 80s
Deserts - mid 90s
Mountains -mid 70s
