Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Sept. 6)
STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The hot weather continues for one more day, as temperatures will once again surpass the century mark.
The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a heat advisory for inland portions of Orange County and the Inland Empire.
We will start to see some slight cooling over the weekend as the big ridge of high pressure begins to shift back to the east. The humidity levels should drop a bit as well.
However, there is still a chance for a thunderstorm in our local mountains. In fact, we will have a flash flood watch in effect today for the mountains and high desert.
By the middle of next week, a disturbance off the Pacific may start churning up that monsoonal flow once again and we could even see the chance for a thunderstorm in the LA area. That, however, is six days out and still kind of up in the air.
For the time being, hot weather is what we are talking about as we make our way into the weekend.
Basin - low to mid 90s
Beaches - low to mid 80s
Valleys - near 100
Mountains - upper 70s
Deserts - upper 90s to near 100
