Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Sept. 21)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The ridge of high pressure is still our dominate weather feature today.

While it may be a couple of degrees cooler than yesterday, it will still be warm inland and above average in the basin. There is some light patchy coastal fog along the Central Coast...and some clouds working up from the south in Orange County. Both instances of clouds should clear out very quickly this morning.

There is a general cooling trend for the weekend as a trough moves into the west coast. We will see an increased marine layer which should bring our downtown highs below average as we start off the next week. However the models are inconsistent about the long range forecast...one has our area staying cool, while the model I have more confidence in...brings our temperatures back up a bit. We'll see.

Coast-mid to upper 70s
Basin-mid to upper 80s
Valleys-near 100
Deserts-upper 90s
Mountains-mid 70s
