Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Sept. 17)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — After a scorching weekend, a 1400' marine layer has penetrated the basin and the valley that will help to cool things off a bit Monday.

Daytime highs will top out in the low 80s in the basin and into the upper 80s to low 90s in the valleys. The ridge of high pressure will expand from the south once again tomorrowand that should warm us to above average temperatures for the rest of the week.

The marine layer will be squashed back to the beach.

By Friday an off-shore flow kicks in...that's going to dry us out with some gusty winds. This will increase the fire danger as well. By the weekend a trough is expected to dig into the west coast and that will cool us off just a bit.

Coast-mid 70s
Basin-low to mid 80s
Valleys-upper 80s to low 90s
Deserts-low 90s
Mountains-low 70s
