Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Sept. 12)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Low clouds this morning will clear for hazy sunshine.

The inversion has strengthened overnight to give us some low cloud cover stretching into the valley. While it will be a gray start to the day, we are watching an upper ridge make its push into Southern California.

Once those clouds clear out, we should see some decent warming...90s for the valleys.

Beach communities will have to contend with this cloud cover a little longer. In fact there are some areas that may be stuck in the clouds for most of the day. The high pressure takes hold Thursday through Saturday. Temperatures will be well above average with triple digit heat returning to the valleys.

A general off-shore flow will cut off some of that monsoonal moisture so it won't feel as humid as it has. By the end of the weekend and into next week a trough dropping into the west may cool us slightly.

Coast-mid 70s
Basin-low to mid 80s
Valleys-upper 80s to low 90s
Deserts-low 90s
Mountains-mid 70s
