Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Sept. 11)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — A little relief for Tuesday as the on-shore flow has strengthened somewhat.

While there is still a slight chance for an afternoon thunderstorm in the San Gabriel and San Bernardino Mountain ranges, the instability has decreased. The high pressure over Texas will expand to the west for the rest of the week...so while it will be nice today, expect much warmer weather from Wed-Mon. In fact the high pressure will be parked right over Southern California on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday...which means highs downtown in the 90s and triple digit heat again for the valleys.

There are some signs of cooling next week.

Coast-upper 70s to near 80
Basin-mid to upper 80s
Valleys-mid 90s
Deserts-mid 90s
Mountains-low 70s
