Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Sept. 4)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — We have an interesting pattern setting up for the next couple of days.

There is a steady stream of mid-level moisture moving into the area this morning. We are seeing it in the form of the clouds we saw yesterday through the day. However there is a chance we could squeeze out some moisture.

What makes the situation a little more complicated is a tropical storm near Baja that has the possibility to spread more moisture into the area. This combined with an area of lift (vort max) that is moving through Southern California could give us some widespread rainfall.

The time frame of this would be late tonight into Tomorrow. In fact even when that wave of energy moves through...there is still a chance for tropical moisture all week long. The atmosphere settles down and we will warm up for the weekend as the ridge of high pressure nudges back to the west. Otherwise today you can expect temperatures to be around average, however it will be warm in the valleys...with the temps dipping a little bit under cloud cover tomorrow and Thursday.
