Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Oct. 9)
STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The system we have been watching since last week is finally making a move towards the Southland.
We are looking at a dreary day. We will start off with a little drizzle for the first half. It will be spotty.
Our daytime highs today will be well below normal, by about 15 degrees in most cases.
Steady showers will develop by the afternoon. The worst of it will be the foothills in the San Gabriel Valley.
For the most part we can expect precipitation totals to hover between .10" and .20". However, in those favored foothills the totals may be a bit higher.
Depending on when the cold air arrives we will see snow develop as well. If the cold air is conjunction with the moisture than some of that snow may stick to the ground above 6500'. However, if the cold air lags...it will merely be flurries.
The snow level could drop down to 5000' by nightfall.
Winds will be another component of this system. Warnings and Advisories are in place through the day for Apple Valley, Victorville, as well as canyons and passes in LA County.
We rebound back tomorrow with clearing conditions. Temperatures will remain below average until next week.
