STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — We are still waiting for the first big "winter-like" trough of the season to push into Southern California.
So far the timing looks good for Wednesday. Look for some low clouds today and cooler weather. The cold core of the low will move mostly over land. That will make this system particularly moisture starved, however, we can expect light scattered showers through the day on Wednesday.
The impressive features of this system are the cold temperatures accompanying the system and gusty winds to go with it.
We will also see snow levels dropping to 6500'. There will be little or no accumulation with this system.
As far as the rain goes, we will start with drizzle early Wednesday turning to a steady shower by the afternoon, then tapering off. Expect a total of less than .10".
Gusty winds will affect the Antelope Valley and the I-5 corridor.
We will dry up on Thursday and Friday, however temperatures will remain at or a little below average.

Mountains - low 60s
Deserts - upper 70s
