Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Oct. 7)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Well, after a warm, dry weekend, mother nature is shuffling the deck once again.

A large upper-level low is once again scooting down the coast, but this time, it may translate into our first rain of the season.

Look for a general cooling trend, in fact, on Monday we will see a 10-degree drop in our daytime highs.

The marine layer has made a return to most of the area this morning.

By Wednesday, the upper-level low will be right over Southern California. This is the first cold low of the season for us and could very well translate into some measurable rainfall Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Daytime highs will only top out in the 60s.

The system moves out very quickly and should clear out by Thursday. Look for a warmer pleasant weekend.

Basin - mid 80s

Beaches - mid 70s

Valleys - upper 80s to near 90

Mountains - mid 60s

Deserts - mid 80s
