Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Oct. 2)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Another hot day is anticipated across the area today.

It will be a little cooler Tuesday, but temperatures for inland areas will well surpass the century mark. There is a pretty strong inversion in place, but at this time the skies remain mostly clear. There is the possibility of patchy dense coastal fog.

With the off-shore flow still in place, the lows for some communities will be quite warm...into the 70s and even 80s in some cases.

The good news...we have peaked in our warm weather. Expect a gradual cooling trend for the rest of the week. Temperatures will actually start swinging in the other direction...with cooler than average temperatures as an area of low pressure traverses the area. This will strengthen the on-shore flow.

Coast-upper 80s
Basin-low to mid 90s
Valleys-low 100s
Deserts-upper 90s
Mountains-mid 70s
