Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (June 27)

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — We are seeing the return of just a few patchy low clouds at the beach and immediate coastal plain this morning. Otherwise we are waking up to mostly clear skies.

Basin temperatures will be similar to Tuesday, but inland highs will bump up a bit. A ridge of high pressure in the central portion of the country is expanding to the west ever so slightly and that will warm us up for the next couple of days.

Temperatures inland should eventually reach into the mid 90s. It will be a battle between the marine layer and that high pressure, because a coastal eddy could thicken the marine layer over the next couple of days. These are competing weather influences, beaches should expect consistent temperatures with the possibility that Friday could be a pretty cloudy day.

By the weekend we all cool down as another trough drifts over the west coast, so expect cooler weather for Sunday and Monday. Right now it looks like we will have more of this same pattern for the 4th of July.

Beaches -low to mid 70s
Basin - low 80s
Valleys - low 90s
Deserts - low 90s
Mountains -mid 70s
