Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (June 24)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The way we start this work week is going to be completely different from the way we end this work week.

For today and tomorrow we are anticipating a strong on-shore flow and thickened marine layer.  Low clouds are in the valley this morning.

There a couple of fronts pushing through the west coast that will keep our temperatures below average.  There may be enough of a marine layer to squeeze out a little drizzle in some foothill communities.

However, by Wednesday a ridge of high pressure will expand into the west coast and we are getting geared up for a prolonged heat wave.  Inland temperatures could reach well past 100 degrees for 5 days or more.  The high desert could surpass 110 degrees.

Right now it looks like the monsoonal moisture will stay away from the area.

Basin - low to mid 70s

Beaches - upper 60s to 70s

Valleys - mid to upper 70s

Mountains - upper 60s

Deserts - low 80s
